Blackpool and the Fylde heavy band Ravenface have taken another step towards the fame they feel is coming their way.

Best-selling heavy metal magazine Metalhammer (www.metalhammer.co.uk) has asked them to play at their festival Hammerfest 3 (www.hammerfest.co.uk) in Wales this March.

“The festival has been home to so many huge bands, including Bullet For My Valentine (currently on a huge sell-out headline Arena tour), Dream Theatre, Opeth, Saxon and loads more!” says Ravenface member James Denton.

“We’re insanely hyped to be playing a festival as prestigious as this, and we’re over the moon about being able to share the stage with so many great bands.

“We’ve been playing for about four years, and from pretty humble beginnings have managed to rake in a pretty committed fan base around the world.

“Our first EP has been downloaded from our various websites over 500,000 times, and our debut album This Is Annihilation was featured on the itunes top 200 Billboard in the Metal/Rock Category in its first week of release.”

The average age of the band is just 18, and its oldest member is 20. A new music video for the single Spineless is due to be released in just over a month.

Popular rock channel Scuzz has agreed to play the new video.

“Hopefully, it’s upward from here,” says James. We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve been making and can’t wait to tour with this new record. Maybe even play a show in Finland, where we have already got some fans!”
