Blackpool entertainer Joel Hatton has taken the coalition government’s advice and literally got on his bike to find work, writes Katherine Tyndall.
The former Blackpool and the Fylde College Performing Arts student will be joining other world-class acts as he demonstrates his unicycling expertise as part of the Phoenix Circus.
The 21 year old’s return to the North West this week sees him under the Big Top in Ryelands Park in Lancaster.
The talented Blackpool resident will also be showcasing his acting talents in the production as he takes on the role of the Ringmaster in the show which is part of Zippo’s Circus, voted Britain best two years running.
Joel, who has been on tour across the country for seven week said: “I can’t wait to see Blackpool Tower again – even the air in Blackpool smells different. I’m excited to see family and friends, I have never been away from home this long before.”
The company is confident the 2011 tour will be their most successful yet.
As well as Joel’s act there are Russian trapeze routines, Mongolian contortionists and slapstick mayhem from Beau and Fips.
The Lancaster visit runs from Thursday until Tuesday May 31.
