Garstang Unplugged ends its 2011 programme tomorrow with one of its biggest ever names – Catherine Maclellan.
From Prince Edward Island on Canada’s east coast, she is the daughter of Canadian music legend, Gene MacLellan, the writer of such huge hit songs as Snowbird the Anne Murray classic which features on her own latest album.
Her albums have picked up a host of plaudits from magazines such as Maverick and Roots, she has topped the Canadian album download charts and was Canada’s solo artist of the year in 2009. She won Female Singer of the Year and Folk Recording of the Year in 2010.
Silhouette, her new album, was released last September. Catherine was featured playing live on the Bob Harris Radio 2 show last Monday.
