‘Allo, ‘allo, ‘allo Blackpool’s Comedy Station comedy club is holding its Christmas special at the Winter Gardens on Thursday, December 8.

To end its most successful year to date the club has secured a return appearance of one of the stars of ITV1’s Show Me The Funny and Humberside police’s favourite sergeant, Alfie Moore.

As a serving sergeant he came slightly later to comedy and brings a wealth of insights from his 18 years on the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival.

Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield he was an apprentice in the steelworks before joining the police.

Early on in Alfie’s career he finished runner up in a national stand-up competition and was hooked. He subsequently served a whole new apprenticeship, honing his craft at comedy clubs all over the country before being invited to become resident compere at the Other Side comedy clubs.

For the past two years Alfie has written and performed his own one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they have each run for the full 22 nights. He has also supported Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national comedy tours. Fresh from his appearance in Fleetwood on Tuesday of the same week, “jet-setting” Ryan Gleeson returns to his usual role of host and compere to ensure the night runs as smoothly as possible, after missing last month’s show due to suffering from meningitis.

There will be a full supporting line up on the night. Doors open at 8pm for a 9pm start. Tickets are £5 and seats can be reserved at no extra cost by calling the Comedy Station hotline on 07956 108361.
