The best in ballroom has been celebrated in a nine-day dance extravaganza at Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom.
More than 6,000 dancers from around 60 countries came together for the Blackpool Dance Festival, which drew to a close at the weekend.
The Winter Gardens’ Marketing manager David Gore said: “This has been another very successful event, very well received by competitors and spectators alike.
“As always, it’s a massive boost for the economy of Blackpool and we’re all very pleased with how it went – and looking forward to 2014.”
The festival includes around a dozen disciplines for dancers to compete in and has seen finals taking place late late into the evening and sometimes into the early hours of the morning.
Established in 1920, the festival is now in its 88th year.
