HOW about this for a tidy likeness? The ginger carpet was rolled out in Blackpool yesterday as larger than life comedian Keith Lemon came face-to-face with himself.
The saucy-tongued TV star is the latest celebrity to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds.
As he arrived at the Promenade attraction to meet his £150,000 double, scores of fans wearing Keith Lemon masks gathered in the hope of meeting the man himself.
He posed for dozens of photographs, sang karaoke style and signed pictures and even foreheads before disappearing inside for the moment of truth
As the curtain was pulled back to reveal the tangerine tanned, bleached blond figure, he beamed with pride.
And after checking the model’s trousers to ensure it was intact and planting a slobbery kiss on its lips, he declared he was happy with the likeness.
He said: “I’m chuffed to bits with it.
“It’s amazing to be stood next to myself, in fact it’s bizarre trying to catch your own eye.
“It is a privilege to be one of only 72 figurines here in Blackpool.
“There’s no point lying, I am going to gloat when I get back to Celebrity Juice because I’m here and Fearne and Holly aren’t.
“I feel more important than ever that so much work has gone into making my figure, it feels like I’ve made it!”
Keith Lemon appears as part of an interactive Celebrity Juice set. The comedian, aka Leigh Francis, had two sittings with artists to ensure the figure did him justice.
Matthew Titherington, general manager of the attraction, said: “Keith Lemon is a fantastic addition to Madame Tussauds, he is someone we’ve wanted for ages.
“We are delighted he loves the figurine, I’m sure he will prove a big draw for visitors.”
Gazette competition winner Chris Ball, 34, from Bispham was also able to meet the star and witness the unveiling.
He said: “I love Keith Lemon, it was fantastic to meet him.
“I thought it was a joke when I found out I’d won.”
