WHAT about this for a n-ice tattoo? One of Dan Whiston’s army of fans is so devoted to the Fylde skating king, she has had his signature tattooed on her back.

Bex Westwood, from Birmingham, who is part of his fan club Whiston’s Angels, decided to get the ink to show her devotion to the former Hot Ice star.

Whiston’s Angels have their own website and Twitter feed for fans to see photos of Dan and read all the latest news about his work.

Dan, who lives in Poulton, said he could not quite believe the level of support he now gets from fans.

He said: “It’s amazing. I can’t believe one of my fans actually got a tattoo with my name - it’s really flattering.

“The level of support I get is just brilliant.

“It’s one of the reasons I have really loved doing our skate lessons in Cleveleys over the school holidays, it has allowed me to meet people, to meet fans.

“People have come from all over the country to take part in the classes and they have proved really successful.

“We’ve had some brilliant feedback.”

The classes have proved so popular, Dan and his friend Karen Barber - head coach on hit ITV1 show Dancing on Ice - have teamed up once again to offer another skate school in the October half-term.

It will be the last chance for people to take part in the lessons at Sub Zero, Cleveleys, before training for the new series of Dancing on Ice starts.

The pair will be back on the ice October 29, 30 and 31, doing two classes per day.

Sessions will be held for all ages and all abilities.

Dan said: “It’s been absolutely brilliant doing it during the summer. It’s been a sell-out.

“It’s been great for the kids but is also something the whole family can do together.

“There’s no age limit and we welcome all standards - it’s for everyone.

“The only reason we’re doing it again is because people kept asking us if we would - it’s back by popular demand.

“It’s the last chance for people to get their skates on and join us before we start on Dancing on Ice again.”

It’s been a busy summer for Dan, who was involved in helping to choreograph skating nuns in the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony.

He has also had involvement in the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games - but cannot reveal any details yet. And the 35-year-old is currently renovating a property in Poulton.
