WHEN you think of the Pleasure Beach, you think of rollercoasters and rides.
But that’s ridiculous because there’s so much more.
A two-hour behind-the-scenes look at Blackpool’s biggest tourist attraction – organised as part of the Showzam! festival – was a fascinating insight into all the hard work that goes on out of the public eye.
The event included a trip into the workshop, which contains more than 10,000 costumes that have been used in all the big shows over the years, from the annual Hot Ice to Mystique and Eclipse.
Anthony Johns, artistic director at the Pleasure Beach, and the man responsible for everything from choreography to costumes to designing rides, led the terrific tour, which was worth every penny of the £14 ticket price.
