Fans travelled from as far afield as Bury and Nelson to meet Fred Dibnah’s widow, Sheila, on the Fylde coast.

Sheila signed copies of her book, ‘A Cast-Iron Will’, which documents her life with the former TV presenter, at Silverdell bookshop in Kirkham.

Silverdell co-owner Elaine Silverwood said: “There were some of her long lost friends turning up and all I could do was hear her giggling. There was a big smile on her face.”

Sheila is the latest in a long line of authors to visit the shop for book signing sessions, with big names such as Sir Alex Ferguson and Lisa Riley due to visit next month.
