Ballroom dancing has been given a huge shot in the arm since the success of all those TV shows featuring celebrities dressed in sparkly sequinned-outfits and trying not to embarrass themselves on the dancefloor.
Which is one reason why the Blackpool Dance Festival - currently in full swing at the Winter Gardens - is going from strength to strength.
The 88th annual festival started over the Bank Holiday weekend and continues until Friday.
The festival, one of the best around, is a blur of top-class dancing with competitions in amateur, senior and professional ballroom and Latin events.
There are also stalls selling shoes, materials, dresses, CD’s and jewellery.
The festival is open to the public from 10am to 6pm and day tickets are £32.
