The very definition of an event with a difference returns to Blackpool next weekend.

The international Same-Sex Ballroom Championships, launched in the resort last year, is back for what looks likes becoming an annual event.

It is hosted by the Sugar Dandies – who found fame on Britain’s Got Talent – and takes place at the Winter Gardens’ Spanish Hall.

Last year’s event attracted competitors from all four corners of the globe and seems set to do the same this time around, with dancers from Russia, South Africa and Australia.
