IT might have missed out on hosting the final - but Blackpool’s famous Tower ballroom will still feature on Saturday’s climax to this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
For the BBC is due in the resort tomorrow to film some scenes which will be shown as part of the broadcast expected to be watched by millions of viewers.
And residents are being urged to get themselves on the dance floor if they want to be part of the action.
Cameras will be in the ballroom to capture what has been dubbed the Strictly Shimmy, and it is hoped as many dancers as possible will join in.
Tower manager Kate Shane said: “We want as many people as possible to come along and take part and entry to the ballroom will be free.
“We were disappointed the BBC decided not to leave London for his year’s schedule and we would love them to come back next year.
“But in the meantime, before the 2013 schedules are decided, they have asked if we would like to take part in some way in this year’s final by hosting the Strictly Shimmy.”
