SERVICE with a winning smile is guaranteed for people calling in for help with their local council matters.
Residents popping in to Fylde Council’s customer contact centre in St Annes will be greeted by real life beauty queen Jenna Howard, who walked away champion of Sunday’s Miss Fylde Coast contest.
Jenna was back to work as customer service specialist at the council on Monday, helping people with their bins, planning, parks and housing enquiries.
As well as having fetching looks, contest judges at The Sands in Blackpool were looking for someone with a helpful nature, and the 23-year-old proved she had just that by helping 40 members of the public on Monday alone.
Jenna said: “It’s all been a blur since I won on Sunday night.
“I got into work at the town hall and everyone cheered.
“I took the crown to work and everyone tried it for size.
“I don’t know where it will lead. I’m just going to concentrate on helping people who ring or call at the Town Hall, which I really enjoy, and then I’ll see what happens.”
Mark Jones, Miss England regional organiser and one of the Miss Fylde Coast contest organisers, added: “One thing that really impressed us was how Jenna spoke about her job at the council.
“She loves helping people and that came across very well.
“I’m sure she is a great ambassador for the council and will be a fantastic representative for the area in this year’s Miss England contest.”
Jenna, from St Annes, will represent the Fylde coast at the Miss England semi-final in May.
