FREE art will be up for grabs in Blackpool tomorrow as the first Arty Farty Friday gets under way.

Local painter Robin Ross has teamed up with other local creative types in a bid to put Blackpool on the art scene map.

And tomorrow, nine pieces of art ranging from canvasses, prints and drawings, will be left on the street in the resort bearing the sign ‘free art’.

Local people lucky enough to stumble across them are encouraged to pick them up and keep them.

Arty Farty Friday will run every third Friday of the month and Robin says he hopes it will be popular.

He said: “The idea of free art was started by an artist called My Dog Sighs and they have proved very popular.

“We hope it will encourage local people to get more involved and take more notice of local art.

“There will be some fantastic pieces dotted around the town on Friday which are free to whoever is lucky enough to find them.”
