FYLDE coast ice king Dan Whiston is skating ever closer to the top prize on this series of Dancing on Ice with gymnast Beth Tweddle.
Dan, from Poulton, and Olympic medallist Beth made it through to the semi-finals this Sunday on the public vote.
They received a score of 30 from the judges for their routine to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, incorporating a hula hoop, for “props week” in the quarter final.
The feedback was generally good from the ice panel, but sharp-tongued critic Jason Gardiner said he still was not seeing enough ‘performance’ from Beth.
The pair will now skate against boxer Luke Campbell, rugby player Gareth Thomas and EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas on Sunday for a place in the grand final.
This week’s show will incorporate ‘flying’ where the celebrities will have to cope with being suspended above the ice as part of their routines.
