Schoolchildren got a taste of the Orient as they celebrated Chinese New Year.
Youngsters at Moor Park Primary School tried traditional Chinese dishes, created Asian art and learned phrases in Mandarin for the celebration.
Chinese teachers visited the school to give lessons on art, culture, language, maths and calligraphy on Thursday.
And chefs from nearby takeaway Canton Chef, on Ashfield Road, visited the school to cook tasting dishes.
Pupils in the infant classes spent the morning making a traditional dragon which they then paraded through the Langdale Road school.
Headteacher Joanne Goldsborough was inspired to teach the children about the culture after going on a headteachers trip to China last year.
She said: “The children have been really keen to learn all about China, they’ve been really enthused about it .
“And we’ve some Chinese families in our school too so it was lovely to be able to celebrate this occasion with them.”
