An inspirational Fylde artist has secured a £10,000 funding grant to help deliver creative workshops to aspiring illustrators.

Christine Stringfellow, of Roseway, St Annes, won a drawing inspiration award from the Campaign for Drawing for her outstanding efforts in the Big Draw event, Circles of Light, in March.

People were asked to draw something on a small pre-cut paper circle in a project which attracted close to 2,000 Fylde artists.

The pictures were then put on display at Lowther Gardens in Lytham and Kirkham Memorial Park.

After that success, Christine has secured £10,000 from the lottery through Grants for the Arts to deliver another art project across Fylde.

Christine said: “This means five Fylde or Lancashire based artists will have an opportunity to gain paid work experience while delivering a range of free, visual arts activities to the residents of Fylde.”

A range of art workshops, drop-in activities and programmes of six sessions will be held at Lytham Hall, Kirkham Memorial Park and St Annes Arts Festival.

The workshops will take place during the summer. For more information visit www.circlesoflight-fylde.blogspot.co.uk
