ICE King Dan Whiston is all fired up for a battle this weekend.
It will be skates at dawn tomorrow night when he takes to the ice with celebrity partner Beth Tweddle as part of this week’s Dancing on Ice show.
In a new twist, each couple will this week be pitted against another pair in a ‘dual’ on the ice.
They will have to both skate to the same piece of music and the judges will be watching for who does the best performance.
Dan, from Poulton, and Olympic gymnast Beth will be skating against MP Oona King.
Former Hot Ice star Dan said: “Beth and I have been training hard, spending about three hours on the ice every day, as well as going to the gym to work out together, going to dance classes and other training. She’s loving it. We are working hard, but Beth is of the mindset she only has one chance on the show and she wants to make the most it.
“She’s really enjoying it and we do have fun and just keep laughing while we are training together.
“The only issue she has really is the cold, because she’s not used to working on the ice or in such cold temperatures. She is incredibly flexible, but she needs to be warm first.”
>> Fans can see Beth and Dan perform on Dancing on Ice on Sunday, ITV1, from 6.15pm.
