ARTISTS from a Fylde school are showcasing their work in Blackpool.

Works by pupils from Lytham St Annes Technology College are being displayed at Cafe Dolce, Abingdon Street.

The exhibition has been organised by Michael Cassidy, a teaching assistant at the school on Worsley Road, Ansdell, and shows the work of 30 art and photography pupils.

He said: “I’m an artist myself and was so impressed with their creative results that I felt the talent should be shared.

“In selecting the work we hope to convey the curiosity and expressive energy of our students and given an insight into their thoughts and interests.”

The works, which cover everything from reflective landscapes and the beauty of nature to celebrity and culture, will remain on display in the cafe until the end of the month.

Gabrielle Dawkins (pictured), 16, is proud to have her painting on display and to share her ideas.

She said: “With my artwork I want to force the viewer to look at things in the environment that people usually avoid.

“I want people to see that even though this flower is dying, there are beautiful colours still present.”
