THIS may be a craze born out of the 1960s but these Northern Soul enthusiasts are still showing no signs of tiring.
The latest event to hit Blackpool – long the second home of the music scene, after Wigan Pier – saw dozens of hot steppers take to the dance floor at the Winter Gardens for a special event which lasted from dusk until dawn.
The Northern Soul All-Nighter saw some of the UK’s best DJs bring their packed record boxes to the venue and filled three rooms with dancing fanatics.
And while Little Mix, the latest X-Factor grown pop sensation to hit the charts, were entertaining teenage music fans in the Opera House downstairs, it was up to the older generation to show the youngsters a thing or two about dance floor staying power.
And as the Motown and Northern Soul hits blasted out of the speakers the parquet was packed as the original ravers brought back dances born 50 years ago.
