Blackpool may be in the grips of winter, with freezing winds blowing in off the Irish Sea.

But a blaze of Balearic sunshine will be coming in to warm up revellers at Blackpool Rocks this weekend.

Superstar DJs the Mambo Brothers are among the headliners for the dance and urban music festival which takes over Blackpool Tower on Saturday night,

The duo Christian and Alan Anadon have grown up behind the decks of the White Isle’s legendary Cafe Mambo, opened by their father Javier 20 years ago.

The bar is best known as the official warm up spot for nightclub Pacha, with top DJs Carl Cox, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia all regulars.

On Saturday night, the brothers are hosting their own room at the Tower, with Bontan. Eli & Fur, Christoph, Mr H, Maden and Elliot Smith all on board.

Christian said: “I’m extremely looking forward to Blackpool Rocks.

“It will be great to see so many of the people we know from Ibiza over there in the UK. We love Hannah Wants, and Martin Garrix [headliners in the main room] is a good friend.

“People will love the line up in our room, there’s going to be a really good atmosphere; we’re definitely bringing lots of sunshine with us, and Jager for shots.”

The duo will be flying in to the UK specially for Blackpool Rocks, before jetting out to Australia, via Dubai, for a tour down under.

But they’re ready for the challenge of a UK dance floor.

“We do adapt a little bit in our own Mambo Brothers’ fun style depending on the city we’re in,” Christian said.

“And the challenge is always working in England because of the big music culture; from the radio to the DJs, people are always really up to date with the scene there.

“I have to make sure I listen to the promos and make sure we have the right tracks to surprise people.

“It’s a more challenging audience, and we love that.

“Blackpool will have a real festival feel, and we hope to do something really special.”

With the Southern Hemisphere sun to look forward to, how will Christoph and Alan adapt to Blackpool’s rather cooler climes?

“It’s not warm, so much, but it is sunny here in Ibiza at the moment,” Christoph said.

“I don’t know how we’re going to be ready for the cold, but we’ll have to buy something last minute.

“Blackpool Tower looks a great place, big and old for sure, but we’ll be ready to party like proper northern people do.”
