Misery of Sound is looking for a new home.

The popular alternative music gatherings which originally met in the West Coast Rock Cafe Club Above had more recently moved to The Tavern on Church Street – until it changed hands earlier this month.

Now half of its Halloween double dose of musical horror will take place in the nearby Cedar Tavern next Thursday with the other evening taking place in the Blue Room as planned.

The Church Street venue’s Spook A Rama night takes place on Halloween night from 9pm with Blackpool’s ghoulish twosome Vince Ripper And The Rodent Show on stage at about 10.30pm with their mix of 50’s/60’s garage/rockabilly infused music and twisted interpretations.

The duo is constantly busy gigging around the UK with trips to Birmingham’s Zombie club and bookings in December with Dead Elvis and London’s infamous club night Dead And Buried.

DJ Grimly Fiendish will be on hand throughout Halloween night playing the creepiest tracks from the worlds of rockabilly/psychobilly/horrorpunk and deathrock.

The following night at The Cedar Tavern there’s a very rare UK performance by Los Angeles deathrockers Fangs On Fur with one of just two dates on their first trip to the UK – the other being Whitby Goth Weekend on November 2, before heading off to mainland Europe.

Blackpool band Pink Hearse will be in support, following their successes at this year’s Rebellion festival.

Completing the bill will be B-Movie Britz, a British punk outfit from Corby which takes influences from bands such as The Damned, New York Dolls and Cock Sparrer right through to Misfits and Wednesday 13, mixing elements of punk, horror punk and Oi!

It’s £4 on the door for this event or half price with a flyer for the event.

Doors 8pm to midnight.
