Blackpool born actor Ashley Luke Lloyd is heading back to his home town this week after a successful run playing alongside Gareth Gates in James Bourne’s new musical Loserville before it heads to the West End in London.
He’s back in town to begin working with Scream Theatre Schools and putting young stars through their paces on a two week Summer Challenge.
At only 21, this year marks Ashley’s 13th year in show business and he has been with Red Door Management since the tender age of eight when his career into the world of acting and musical theatre took its first steps.
His theatre credits include Poor Baby in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s UK tour of Whistle Down The Wind, Michael in the original cast of Billy Elliot and Mark in the 2010 revival of A Chorus Line. He has also worked alongside Sir Elton John and director Stephen Daldry.
Television credits include guest roles in Waterloo Road (BBC), The Royal (ITV), Doctors (BBC) and Nigel Godfrey in Half Moon Investigations (CBBC).
Scream Theatre Schools are looking for six to 18-year-olds who think they are up for a two week challenge.
Ashley will have only 10 days from Monday July 23 to Friday August 3 (excluding weekends) to direct and produce a West End musical version of Grease.
Classes are daily from 10am to 4pm, the rehearsals will take place at The Red Door Studios, 11 Wareham Road, Blackpool, and the final performance taking place at Collegiate High School on Friday August 3
The cost is £16 per day. Call (01253) 309060 for more information or to book a place. There are limited places available.
