Following the success of last year’s To Kill a Mocking Bird, Blackpool Grand Theatre has been invited to join the Touring Consortium.

The Touring Consortium Theatre Company, led by producer Jenny King, is a group of UK theatres who annually co-produce one large-scale drama, supported by high quality education work.

The latest production, Diary of Anne Frank, will be at the Grand from April 16 to 21.

The tender and heartbreaking story of Anne Frank charts two years of her life from 1942 to 1944. Hidden from German Nazis with her Jewish family in a secret annex in Amsterdam, Anne documented her hopes, frustrations and day-to-day experiences in her diary.

This production dramatises Anne’s observations of herself, her companions and the world around her in the most hostile of environments.

Marking the 60th anniversary of the diary’s publication in English this extraordinary personal account of hope, courage and survival has united and touched people all over the world.

Diary of Anne Frank will be supported by a programme of education and learning workshops.

Tickets are available from the box office on (01253) 743339, www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk, or the Grand Theatre information sales point in the Houndshill Shopping Centre.
