A labour of love returns to town

Following successful appearances at the Buxton Festival Fringe and Manchester’s LassFest, Blackpool born actor and writer Stephen Wymark is returning home to perform his play Fragments.

Stephen will be performing at The Talbot Room in Blackpool Central Library on Queen Street, on Friday November 11 at 12.15pm as part of Wordpool 2011 – Blackpool’s 5th Annual Festival Of Words.

Fragments had its debut in Blackpool earlier in the year to an invited audience.

“I wanted to test run the show and hopefully contain any adverse fallout to the local area,” said Stephen. “However it had the opposite effect on the audience and I’ve been running with it since then.”

“The play is really a labour of love,” he says. “It was something I had to write, but never really expected it to have received this much attention. Fragments is a very different kind of play. Almost a conversation. It’s hard to describe why it works, but it seems to reach people on many levels. It is about a character with mental health issues, and has already received a lot of interest from theatre companies, mental health organisations and even BBC Radio Manchester.”
