Popular stand-up comedians and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, The Inbetweeners and Would I Lie To You star, regular Greg Davies is to play Blackpool North Pier Theatre later this year.
Following the three-times extended sell-out success of his five-star reviewed and Foster’s comedy award nominated show Firing Cheeseballs At A Dog, Greg is set to make his Blackpool debut with his brand new stand-up show The Back of My Mum’s Head on Friday December 14.
Since first coming to prominence as the sardonic Head of Sixth Form, Mr Gilbert, in the BAFTA award-winning The Inbetweeners, a role he reprised last year in The Inbetweeners film (the highest ever grossing British comedy film), Greg has brought his unique brand of comedy to some of the UK’s best loved comedy shows.
The riotous success of his first full-length stand-up show in 2010 quickly propelled him towards becoming one of the most successful and critically acclaimed stand-ups in the UK.
His last tour was subsequently released on DVD and Blu-ray in November 2011 by Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd entering the top 10 in the comedy DVD chart and has been nominated for Best DVD in the 2012 Chortle Awards.
He has performed on Live at the Apollo, headlined Dave’s One Night Stand, been a regular team captain on Ask Rhod Gilbert, hosted Never Mind The Buzzcocks and appeared on the The Royal Variety Performance 2011.
Further television appearances include Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie To You?, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Frank Skinner’s Opinionated, Mock The Week, The Graham Norton Show and driving through Nepal alongside Rhod Gilbert in World’s Most Dangerous Roads.
Greg was also one third of Edinburgh Comedy Award and Barry Award nominated sketch group We Are Klang with fellow comedians Steve Hall and Marek Larwood. The trio have performed four critically-acclaimed sell-out Edinburgh shows and made their eponymous debut sitcom series of the same name and one off entertainment special for BBC 3 in 2010. Tickets for his North Pier date are priced £20 and are on sale now. They can be booked by calling the North Pier box office on (01253) 623304, visiting www.northpierblackpool.co.uk, or via the 24-hour Ticketmaster Hotline 0844 847 2452.
