Coronation Street actress Vicky Entwistle, who studied acting in Blackpool, entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last night.
Vicky, who plays Janice Battersby in the soap, was reunited with Bruce Jones, who plays Les Battersby in Coronation Street, in the house for the Channel 5 show.
Vicky, 44, who grew up in Accrington, went to the Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School in Oswaldtwistle, and at the age of 16 she commuted to Blackpool to study drama at Blackpool and The Fylde College while working nights at a local supermarket.
For a time, she worked as a “bluecoat” entertainer at Pontin’s in Devon before she was accepted on scholarship to attend Drama Centre London, from which she graduated in 1992.
Dancer Louie Spence, former football manager Ron Atkinson and model Sophie Anderton are among the other famous faces who have entered the Big Brother house for the celebrity version of the show.
Contestants will be under constant surveillance from 27 remote-controlled cameras, 12 fixed cameras, five manned cameras, 10 infra-red cameras, a tower cam and 57 camera mirrors strategically positioned across the house.
