Jasper Carrot will appear at The Grand Theatre in Blackpool.

Comedian Jasper Carrot will be stopping off in Blackpool when he embarks on his first tour in more than a decade.

He will perform his new show, Stand Up and Rock, at The Grand Theatre in September, 12 years after his last tour.

The show will combine new comedy material with live music from the Ben Bevan Band, formed by his school friend and founding member of ELO Ben Bevan.

Jasper’s career started with music – he set up a folk club in 1969 and had a hit with novelty record ‘Funky Moped’ in 1975 – but went on to achieve success as a stand-up comic and television presenter.

His TV credits include ‘An Audience With Jasper Carrott’ and ‘Carrott’s Lib’. He also appeared on film in the 1987 comedy ‘Jane and the Lost City’.

He is also a published author and is well known for his charity work. He was awarded an OBE in 2002 and The Lifetime Achievement Award by the British Comedy Awards in 2008.

Tickets for the performance at The Grand, on September 28, cost £26.50. For more information, visit www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
