Prices cut to mark Tower birthday

Blackpool Tower

Blackpool Tower

Blackpool Tower is turning the clock back to celebrate its 120th birthday tomorrow.

The attraction will step back in time to when it opened in 1894 by charging people just 6p each for admission - the same as it would have cost Victorian visitors.

For 120 minutes from 12 noon on Wednesday, 1,200 tickets will go on sale online for sixpence each, the equivalent price in 1894.

Available only online, customers will get the chance to take a trip up to the top of the 518-foot tall Tower for the same price as the attraction’s original guests.

It is just one of the exciting events planned to celebrate the landmark’s anniversary, with a memorabilia exhibition, competitions and exciting activities taking place at the Tower throughout the year.
