Tickets for Peter Kay’s one-night show in Blackpool have sold out ‘in a matter of minutes’.
Demand for the special live Q&A in aid for Salford Women’s Aid Domestic Violence Refuges, at Blackpool Opera House on Saturday, November 15 was so high, a second show was announced just an hour after tickets went on sale.
A second show, on Friday, November 14, is now on sale.
The show was announced by Kay when he took to the Tower Headlands stage on Friday night to switch on the Illuminations.
Tickets for the initial date went on sale at 9.30am today, and a spokeswoman for the show said they sold out ‘in a matter of minutes’.
Fans will be invited to submit questions in advance, as well as voting for their favourite clips of the comedians work, which will be shown and discussed on the night.
It will be also be Peter’s first live stage appearance since record-breaking ‘The Tour That Doesn’t Tour Tour’ in 2010 and 2011.
Peter said “A friend of mine works for Salford Women’s Refuges, which unfortunately is greatly overlooked as a charity.
“After hearing the shocking statistics and discussing the invaluable work they do I felt it was crucial to try and raise some much needed funds so they can continue offering vulnerable victims, including children, help when they need it most. If I can put on a special night that helps benefit the charity in some way and have some fun in the process, how could I pass on such a good opportunity?”
