Morrisons is getting rid of its trolley locks

Shoppers at Morrisons in Blackpool’s South Shore no longer need to worry about finding a £1 or token for their shopping trolley.

The store in Squires Gate Lane has now removed all trolley locks in response to Blackpool customer feedback. This removes the need to insert a £1 coin or token to release a trolley from its bay.

Andy Readon, store general manager for Morrisons Blackpool, said: “Customers in Blackpool have told us they want a quicker shop. The removal of trolley locks is just one of the many improvements we are making to our store – to make for a faster and easier shopping trip.”

Morrisons is planning other updates of facilities, including extending opening hours, updating car park controls and improvements to toilets.
