This year, under the Pacha banner branding, it’s the turn of 10 piece Blackpool “groove” outfit Touch The Pearl to inject some serious Christmas funk into the Tower Ballroom on December 22.

“If you haven’t seen them play before make sure you don’t miss them and their fantastic live show,” says ball organiser Ric Porteus.

Touch the Pearl originally formed in the 1990s and honed its stagecraft over several years playing major venues and events across the UK, Ireland and Europe, including the Mean Fiddler in London and Band on the Wall in Manchester.

They have supported acts as diverse as ELO to Edwin Starr, whilst headlining at prestigious events like the Blackpool Tower Christmas Tree Ball on a regular basis.

It also secured regular work with agents responsible for Armed Forces events and chains such as Brannigans and was asked by Blackpool Tourism Department to represent the town in Cork at the Irish Tourism Convention.

After a break of several years the band has come back together, more seasoned and sassy than ever before.

The band has a catalogue of original material but for parties and functions it has an extensive list of classic soul, funk, groove and dance tunes spanning the decades.

Tickets are nearly sold out for next Saturday’s ball.

If you want to join Pacha in the party of the year you’d best be quick.
