SCOUTS, cubs and beavers went above and beyond their motto of Do Your Best in this year’s Gang Show.
The latest offering from Blackpool Scouts showcases talent from all ages, in dancing, singing and comedy.
Led by Joan Swan, who is taking a bow and retiring from her role as director after this year, the Gang Show gives more than 75 scouts the chance to perform on stage at the Globe Theatre in the Pleasure Beach.
From a Kylie medley to camped up cowboy tunes and a dedication to this summer’s Olympics, the Gang Show spans the entertainment spectrum.
It offers a little something for everyone, so if fluorescent outfits or cheesy comedy aren’t for you, there’s some old time classics and tributes to look forward to.
Mrs Swan said: “The children love doing the show.
“Some children have done it before while others have just joined. That’s part of Gang Show, everyone is a team member.
“We work together as a team, it gives the children a lot of confidence.”
That spirit of working together is encouraged for those not on stage too, audience participation is a must and there’s even a complimentary Union Flag each to wave along.
As well as marking the Queen’s Jubilee Year and London 2012 with special medleys, this performance celebrates 50 years of Gang Shows.
While half a century might seem difficult for the average cub or beaver to comprehend they’re happy for any excuse for a celebration, and that’s what Gang Show certainly is.
The show runs tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are available on the door or by calling 0871 222 9090.
