BLACKPOOL might have missed out on hosting television’s Strictly Come Dancing but is in line for a week of the next best thing.

Following the success of the show, judge Craig Revel-Horwood’s brand new outing, Strictly Confidential waltzes into Blackpool Opera House from Tuesday to Friday, July 23 to 26 next year and will give theatre audiences the chance to get up close and personal with stars of the smash hit dance series.

Starring current favourites Lisa Riley, Artem Chigvintsev, Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite, Strictly Confidential will take fans on a journey told through music, song and dance routines.

Opera House manager David Gore told The Gazette: “With the continued popularity of the TV series and the great tradition for ballroom and all forms of dancing in Blackpool we are delighted to be welcoming Strictly Confidential to the Opera House next Summer.”

Star Lisa Riley added: “When I first signed up to Strictly I had no idea I’d be able to ballroom dance, so I was thrilled to be asked to do the live tour.

“Being able to be a part of Strictly Confidential as well is such a great opportunity and I’m really looking forward to continue working with Craig, Artem, Natalie and Ian next year.”

Strictly Confidential will give audiences an insight into what drives the Strictly stars, why dance is the biggest love of their lives and what led them to their Strictly Come Dancing journey.

It promises to give audience members the chance to learn secrets about Lisa, Ian, Artem and Natalie in a frank and revealing autobiographical dance spectacular and share the milestone moments in each of their careers.

The programme is written and directed by the show’s most infamous judge Revel-Horwood.

Performances will be at 7.30pm daily with a 2.30pm matinee on Wednesday July 24.

Tickets are £19.50 to £39.50 (plus booking fees) from Monday at the Winter Gardens box office 0844 8561111 or www.blackpoollive.com
