Hot on the heels of Abbamania, Beatlemania is set to sweep across Blackpool this Autumn as a top show is set for the Winter Gardens.
Hit Beatles’ show Let It Be – fresh from its run in London’s West End – is to play at the Opera House for two weeks from September to October.
More than 50 years after The Beatles themselves played just a stone’s throw away, in the former ABC Theatre in 1963, the show will showcase the music of the world’s most successful rock’n’roll band.
The theatrical concert charts the band’s meteoric rise from their beginnings in Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club to the height of Beatlemania and their later studio works.
Winter Gardens general manager Michael Williams said: “We are delighted to announce that Let It Be will be performing in the Opera House as part of our programme for 2014.
“Mamma Mia! is proving to be a massive hit and sales for River Dance in October are very encouraging. Let It Be now completes our season line up.
“In my opinion, it is the perfect show for Blackpool and will certainly add to the mix of entertainment that is available during the Illuminations.”
The show opens on Tuesday, September 30, running until October 12, with tickets starting at £15.
The show is packed for more than 40 of the groups hits, from I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Hard Day’s Night and Day Tripper, to Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Strawberry Fields, When I’m 64 and Get Back.
It adds Blackpool to its already long list of places visited to delight audiences and will continue on to Japan and Moscow after gracing the Fylde coast.
