REVELLERS relived the glory days of Northern Soul with a weekender at Blackpool Tower.

The event, which included the spectacle of the World Northern Soul Dance Championships on Saturday night, took place in the Tower’s iconic ballroom and circus on Friday, Saturday and yesterday.

Motown classics and the latest dance grooves filled the ears of many happy partygoers all weekend, with some of the North of England’s most renowned DJs spinning the records.

Hundreds of music lovers packed into the attraction to show off their moves.

Among those playing were Richard Searling, Kev Roberts, Ginger Taylor, Colin Curtis, Dave Evison, Chris King, Steve Whittle, Soul Sam, Yocki, Snowy, Keith Fletcher, Sean Chapman, Nige Brown, Pete Roberts and John Poole.

Robbie Platt, a spokesman for Merlin Entertainment, said: “It’s been a real success.

“There was a great turn out from the dancers who have really enjoyed themselves.”
