Blackpool star Joe Longthorne is to celebrate receiving his MBE at Buckingham Palace next month with a special Blackpool show a week later.
Joe gets his “gong” on December 13 and will be making his first post-honours appearance at Viva!, the Blackpool town centre venue run by his friend, Leye D Johns, on Thursday, December 20.
Special guests for the night will be Ricky Tomlinson, Lena Martell and Johnnie Casson with additional appearances from Tony Jo, Stephen Pierre, Carol Kaye, Shaun Foster Coney and Mike Maguire .
There will also be an excerpt from the venue’s Christmas show with Leye D Johns, Phil Jeffries, Emma Norman and the Viva! Showgirls.
Video tributes are also expected from the likes of Engelbert Humperdinck, Roy Chubby Brown, Cannon & Ball, Mick Miller and Ken Dodd.
Joe Longthorne will also be performing his full cabaret show.
“Joe wanted to make Blackpool the first place for an appearance after receiving his MBE and was particularly keen on it being at Viva,” said Joe’s partner Jamie Moran. “He loves the cabaret setting it provides and is becoming increasingly keen on doing more and more intimate shows like this.”
Corporate packages are available for the night at £500 for a table of 10 people which includes canapes and bubbly on arrival, a photograph on the night with Joe and his MBE, plus advertising space in the evening’s specially printed programme
A £250 package is also available for 10 people which incudes a free advertisement in the night’s catalogue. Individual platinum tickets are available at £50 each (including canapes and bubbly) and show only gold tickets are £25.
A donation from the night will be made to Brian House Children’s Hospice.
