A Fylde coast cabaret venue has emigrated – to party town Magaluf.
Chain Ma Kelly’s has officially opened its fifth bar in the Majorca resort. Managing director Mick Sugden said: “It’s going really, really well so far. People are loving seeing the cabaret acts. “There was nothing really there for the over 30s, so it’s just taken off. “We’ve had fantastic feedback. “The opening party was fantastic, a lot of people even flew out from Blackpool.” Two cabaret acts a week are being flown from Blackpool to the Spanish resort to perform as part of Ma Kelly’s Magaluf’s five acts a day, seven days a week offering. It also boasts sports screens to show live matches during the day in the 180-capacity venue. The company has already opened Ma Kelly’s venues at Lytham Road, Foxhall Road and Talbot Road in Blackpool, and on London Street in Fleetwood. The latest venue was snapped up by owners Paula and Paul Kelly while holidaying in the resort, deciding to export their successful all-hours cabaret concept. A total of £150,000 has so far been invested in the bar. Ten bar staff have been recruited, all from Blackpool, many having moved their jobs at the established Fylde Coast venues. Ma Kelly’s Magaluf will be open, based in the resort centre close to the beach, between Easter and October each year.
