A worldwide dance craze took over Blackpool town centre as a salsa “flashmob” swept through cities around the globe.
Members of Fylde coast dance school Noches de Salsa took part in the event – by holding an impromptu mass dance session in St John’s Square – after hearing about it on Facebook.
The official event website claims more than 200 flashmobs showcasing the Cuban Rueda De Casino dance were held in 197 cities across 66 countries.
Allan Gater, of Noches de Salsa, helped organise the performance in Blackpool and said he hopes to stage another next year.
He said: “I think it’s a great idea and it could be even bigger next year. As far as we’re concerned it went really well.”
