Madame Tussauds is set to unveil its latest wax figure – Britain’s Olympic superstar Mo Farah.
The double Olympic champion in 5,000 and 10,000 metres was delighted to be honoured with a wax double, which of course will be modelled in his trademark “mobot” pose.
In fact, it will be a double double, with the Blackpool model in the company of sporting heroes Wayne Rooney and Lewis Hamilton, while in London he’ll join Usain Bolt, Tom Daley and Jessica Ennis-Hill.
Mo said: “I saw Usain Bolt’s wax figure at the Anniversary Games last year and couldn’t believe how brilliant it was. I said then that I’d love one of my own and I’m so excited that it’s now really happening. I cannot wait to meet both of my doubles!”
Matthew Titherington, general manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool said: “Since the 2012 Olympics, Mo has become a real national treasure, which I’m sure will be even more apparent by the time he’s competed in the London Marathon this year. We polled guests to find out which Olympian they wanted to see, and the response was overwhelmingly in favour of Mo.”
