Tower Ballroom’s organ is ready for a spring clean

The marvellous instrument which has provided the soundtrack to generations of Fylde coast courtships is undergoing some spring cleaning.

These pictures show the famous Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer organ undergoing maintenance so that it can keep providing joyful notes for dancing couples in the coming season.

The first organ was installed in the ballroom in 1929, but was then replaced in 1935 after legendary player Reginald Dixon created a new design himself.
