THIS weekend Misery Of Sound promotions are back in the resort with their second annual Mis-Fest festival showcasing and celebrating exciting underground music.
The festival is being held at The West Coast Rock Café Club Above on Abingdon Street tonight and Beat on Corporation Street on Saturday.
Tonight starts at 9pm and goes on until 2am with a selection of the UK's best Goth/Deathrock/Horrorpunk DJs.
The aim of the weekend, say the organisers, is to bring an underground festival event that continues to grow each year like the successful Rebellion Punk festival but for darker inclined music lovers.
Tomorrow's music starts at 5pm and runs until 2 or 3am. This year's headlining act is Vendemmian, recently re-formed Trad Goths who were a massive force in Gothic Rock in the 90s. Charles De Goal, who hail from France, are next down on the bill.
Other acts from mainland Europe are French Dark Indie/Post-Punk Rockers Joy Disaster who played at Misery Of Sound back in early 2008.
Also there is from Wein in Austria, Psychobilly/Horrorpunk act The Blood Sucking Zombies From Outer Space who bring their ghoulish horror rock show to Blackpool for the first time.
The line up also boasts another five top UK acts including Psycho Deathrock 'n' Rollers and Devilish Presley.
Two bands making their resort debut will be London's Glam/Goth act Ghost Of Lemora.
Goth/Alt band Descendants Of Cain will be on the bill with a truly epic rock sound.
Local legends Sign Language -– the New Wave/Post-Punks – make a rare outing in Blackpool and last but not least is relatively new band taking first place on stage – Legion, a Goth band from Leeds.
Throughout the Friday and Saturday events there will be DJ slots by resident DJ Grimly Fiendish alongside top UK DJ's OldGoth, Stripe, Lucretious and Vibeakimbo.
Weekend tickets are £23 and can be bought at www.misfest.co.uk via paypal, You can also purchase tickets tonight at the beginning of the festival and on Saturday at Beat just to see the bands.
Tickets will and must be exchanged for wristbands at the event.
Entry to the West Coast event, venue capacity permitting, is just £2 entry. This festival is an 18 + plus event. There will be an alternative dress code in force.
