A PLAN to rescue three Blackpool post offices is still going ahead – despite confirmation the branches will close.
Blackpool Council is to hold showdown talks with Post Office Ltd in a bid to thrash out a plan to keep open branches in Layton, Bispham and South Shore.

The three are among 58 post offices in Lancashire to close. Only Lytham's Warton Street branch was given a reprieve yesterday.

Blackpool Council remain hopeful a plan could go ahead which proposes the offices could take on additional council services.
