A DOUBLE strike on tour shows why Grayson wants to keep striker Vernon after interest from a Championship and League One club.
SCOTT Vernon is a wanted man – but it looks unlikely that either Colchester or Oldham will persuade the Seasiders to sell.

The striker showed why he's a hot property by scoring twice in Pool's 5-0 victory against the youngsters of FK Auda in yesterday's opening match of their Latvian tour.

Those goals followed the 14 he scored in Pool's promotion campaign, despite spending most of the season on the bench.

That lack of first-team action has resulted in a number of clubs taking a keen interest in the Pool frontman – but so far Grayson has refused to part with the 23-year-old.
