MICHAEL Jackson is the big-name casualty in the Seasiders end-of-year clearout.
The club captain was told today that he is being released and is now searching for alternative employment.

So too is John Hills, with the Lytham lad being told he is no longer required after a frustrating 12 months at the club.

Michael Flynn and Andy Welsh is also heading for the exit door but plenty are staying.

Claus Jorgensen, Andy Morrell and Simon Wiles have all been offered new deals, offers they are mulling over.

Ben Burgess and Danny Coid have had their options taken up.

The full list is:

Already Under Contract: Rachubka, Southern, Evatt, McPhee, Green, Hoolahan, Taylor-Fletcher, Fox, Barker,

Options activated for further year: Burgess, Coid, Crainey, Gorkss, Kay, D'Agostino

New contract offer: Andy Morrell, Simon Wiles and Claus Jorgensen (The club is awaiting their decision.)

Thought Jacko would stay maybe with a coaching role for Reserves, ready to take over from Larry when (not if) he moves on, probably within the next 12 months. Why should he stay & work for a short sighted chairman with no ambition?

It is a shame that there isn't a commitment from the chairman to complete the stands, or at least give the fans a time line for their completion. Unfortunately, even if he says yes today, they wouldn't be ready for the upcoming season. So, it becomes a waiting game to see if the team stays up again next season. It also appears that the Latvian guy isn't too serious about helping the club move forward. Do the Oyston's want to sell the club? Why not allow or find investors that are serious about developing a club?

Good luck to the players who are out of contract, I've been there!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!£450+ for a season ticket!!
HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!Championship footie at Premiership Prices!!Nice one Karl!Oh and for that money i could get a season ticket at Ewood for far less than that(£420 mark)(not that i will, coz i don't support them)
I live in east lancs but i support the Pool all my life, but i have no chance of going to my hometown club and getting to games coz i just can't get the tickets!

And i certainly will not pay them Prices!
So Mr Oyston,is this price hike to help with the playing side?Or will it go towards putting a couple of seats in Gene Kelly stand,so more away supporters can appreciate those lovely rainy days?
Well done Simon,Tony P, and the Lads, you have all done a brilliant job,Our football has gained a lot of respect from other teams in this difficult league!!
Shame the Ground lets everything down especially for the fans!A football ground that nobody can be proud of and will continue to be the cause of embarrasement,i feel for a long time to come!

Sorry for Jacko, he's been a great captain. True professional, thought it might have got a coaching offer at the club, but maybe he still wants to play on?Should get fixed up soon elsewhere. Pleased for Morrell & Jorgensen too. Thanks to all the squad for helping us to stay up.

It's hard to believe (I've just checked though) but a Blackburn season tickect can be bought for only £249 for an adult.
