A STAR-STUDDED Blackpool Reserves team were crushed 7-1 by a youthful Preston North End side in last night's Bamber Bridge derby.
While Liam Chilvers and Jason Jarrett were the only 'names' involved for North End, the Seasiders fielded seven senior-squad men: Keith Southern, David Vaughan, Marlon Broomes, Danny Coid, Zesh Rehman, Stuart Green and keeper Matt Gilks.

Pool were ahead with just 120 seconds on the clock, Green curling in a pinpoint free-kick and again staking a claim for a loan move in front of several scouts.

But that was as good as it got as Preston made it a miserable night for Gilks, whose bid to oust Paul Rachubka as the club's number one has not started well.

Joe Anyinsah hit a hat-trick for North End, while Robert Turner hit a brace and Dominic Collins and Adam Barton also notched.

It was the second string's third straight defeat of the season after previous losses to Manchester City and Bury.

They have an early chance to get revenge over Preston – the ides meet again at Fleetwood Town next Wednesday.

Let's all flap about a meaningless reserve game where several fringe first teamers were strolling about trying to regain fitness. Over sensational reporting from t'gazette as usual.

you come on our site CLIFFO with a statement that we are going bust?? unlike you boys we have FOUR yes FOUR sides to our ground, unlike your sh**hole with only TWO i repeat TWO sides, Not one of your current first team would get in the youth team that walloped your Reserves last night, you sign players that we let go 2 seasons ago because they weren't go enough then and certainly aren't now, lets wait and see where you are at the end of the season, but i'm CERTAIN that a relagation battle is the best you can hope for if u manage not to be relagated by march, where as we will be pushing top 2, you silly lashers don't know when to shut up, i suggest now would be a good time, it must be the sea air, tyhe pollution must rot your brains, then again years of smelling sewerage must have an effect, THE FUTURE'S BRIGHT, THE FUTURE'S WHITE, UP THE LILYWHITES
