DANIEL Nardiello limped off just seven minutes into his debut as Blackpool lost 1-0 at Tranmere.
Nardiello came on as a 65th minute substitution but pulled up on 72 minutes and had to sit out the remainder of the game with an injury to his left leg.

Because Pool had already used all seven outfield subs they had to complete the last 18 minutes
with 10 men.

It was yet another blow for Simon Grayson, who has already admitted he has never seen so many players get injured during a pre-season campaign.

Nardiello joins Shaun Barker, Steve Kabba and Stephen Crainey on the casualty list.

It didn't ge much better on the pitch as the Seasiders failed to win for the sixth friendly game on the row.

Tranmer won courtesy of a 29th minute goal from midfielder Charlie Barnett, who signed on a free transfer from Liverpool on Thursday.

Barnett finished off a beautiful quick move after Adam Hammill carelessly lost the ball during a Pool attack, leaving the team exposed.

Pool played some decent football and had a couple of fine openings. Tranmere keeper John Achterberg made a brilliant pint blank range stop from fit-again Ian Evatt, who was skipper on the day.

Stephen McPhee missed a good chance 10 minutes in when he was put through by Gary Taylor-Fletcher but pulled a tame shot wide.

Zesh Rehman made his Pool debut and enjoyed more good fortune than Nardiello. Rehman came on as a 60th minute substitute and slotted into the back four comfortably.

Matt Gilks played the full 90 minutes and made a brilliant save from Adnan Ahmed's close range header to prevent the home side doubling the scoreline.

Pool have had a terrible pre-season, winning only the opening friendly against Fleetwood.

POOL: Gilks, Halls (Broomes 65), Evatt (Nardiello 65), Pressley (Wright 55), Coid, Taylor-Fletcher (Baptiste 65), Jorgensen (Green 65), Fox (Southern 55), Hammill (Rehman 55), Burgess, McPhee

REF: Lee Mason (Bolton)

What a laugh! I am extremely worried about our lack of firepower. I know it is only pre-season and we shouldn't look to much into these games but where are our goals going to come from? How come our new player only does 7 mins? He must have been hiding this injury or QPR knew about it and didn't say which in the REAL world, would be considered as a techical fault and a refund would be asked for.

Complete joke. These are professional sportsman. They are supposed to be strong and fit. What the hell are they doing in warm-up for God sake? How the bloody hell does someone do their achilles in warming up????

No wonder we haven't paid any money for them, they are bunch of bloody unfit journeymen who can't even stretch properly let alone put the ball in the back of the net. Where's the hunger, where's the passion and commitment???? Steve Kabba has played about 10 times in the last 3 years and scored 1 goal - now we are paying to have his fat ar*e warm OUR bench!

Think Nads will frustrate your butts off. When he wants to do it he will but when he dont, forget it,nothing on earth will make him. But still ,got a soft spot for him. Hope he does want to do it for you apart from when we play yer

Have to say I hope it comes together for 3pm next Saturday, the major worry is if we have a bad start to the season it will be very hard to recover. But lets remain optimistic, when the players walk out against Bristol that is when we can judge the new signings!

Up the Pool!

we have got to question the training for so many to break down either during the warm up or early in the game we must be doing something wrong! This is very very frustrating!
