Lynette Horsburgh begins the defence of her Foster's World 8-Ball Pool title at the Imperial Hotel today.
And the Blackpool cue queen has been in excellent form in the team competition.
Representing Scotland, Horsburgh is topping the ladies averages while champions England have recovered from their shock opening defeat to Wales.
Horsburgh has played 20 frames in four matches and dropped only three.
Slightly worryingly for the individual title holder, one of those losses came against her last 32 opponent, England's European champion, Carly Smith.
But normal service was resumed in the match against Australia. The Scots lost 14-11 but Horsburgh won all three matches.
England top the ladies round robin table with four wins out of five and are heading for the semi-finals.
The men's singles got underway last night with veteran Keith Brewer in fine form.
Brewer is regarded as the Steve Davis of eight ball pool such has been his longevity in the sport. A former individual runner-up, he breezed through his opening two games, dropping just one frame.
