And Rangers – who sent a representative to watch Gow in the derby defeat to Preston – are likely to have little opposition to the transfer going through.

Simon Grayson sat down with Gow's people earlier in the week to try to seal a deal ahead of the end of the striker's loan period on January 1.

Pool have agreed a fee of £200,000 with the Scottish giants.

It is now up to the club to persuade Gow to come to Bloomfield Road.

"Blackpool would like to sign me but discussions are at an early stage," said the 26-year-old Scot.

"I'd still like to go back to Ibrox but that won't be down to me. I haven't heard anything so I can't see it.

"Everything is going well because I'm playing again and scoring goals.

"My ability never changed. I just lost fitness because I wasn't playing at Rangers.

"I'm now back to the level I've always known I'm capable of. I've scored three goals, including last-minute ones against Cardiff and Watford.

"The punters have been great. Simon Grayson is a good guy and has shown a lot of faith by giving me a chance."

Gow also revealed that fellow Scot Stephen Crainey has helped him adjust to life in Blackpool.

"Stephen has been great," said Gow. "He gives me lifts because the new surroundings take a bit of getting used to."

Former Celtic man Crainey is still struggling to recover from the groin operation that has destroyed his season.

He has yet to feature, although he has started doing some light training.
