Dickov Leicester press conference today
THE Seasiders' long-running pursuit of Paul Dickov will officially end in failure today when the Scot joins Leicester City.
One of the summer's most protracted transfer sagas will finally be resolved when the 35-year-old's move to the Walkers Stadium is announced at a press conference.
Dickov has decided to snub Pool's offer of Championship football and the chance to play Major League Soccer with Toronto to sign what is understood to be a lucrative two-year deal with the League One club.
Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric said yesterday: "He would be a good addition to the club, with his experience, character and past here.
"There is a very positive dialogue. I guess we need another day before we can be more positive."
Talks have been ongoing for the last two days, but The Gazette understands the former Manchester City striker has decided to opt for a second spell at Leicester.
That could be good for Andy Morrell, who would now appear to have a better chance of agreeing a deal with Pool.
He has been training with the club throughout the pre-season and is hoping to agree terms on a new contract.
